\r\n

    \r\n

  1. Reading
  2. \r\n

  3. Writing

How to master these basics of blogging

\r\n

1. Reading

\r\nIt is a great saying by Shakespeare, that learning age never ends. If you think that you have enough knowledge about blogging tactics and your niche, then you are wrong. Nobody can be perfect. There are a lot of things coming out everyday, be it Google’s algo updates where they tell the new techniques you need to implement to remain safe from the penguin and panda and keep your content higher in SERP (Search Engine Ranking Positions), or any new update coming out in terms of technology or the niche with which you are blogging. All these things need you to be updated with the latest news and technologies. Below are a few point which will tell you what all you have to do to master the reading element.\r\n

    \r\n

  • Read famous blogs in your niche : Reading other blogs of your niche which are popular can help you in many ways. First, it makes your reading power strong and it gives you an idea of how great bloggers write.
  • \r\n

  • Surf Internet and research as much as possible : Surfing internet with a purpose of research gives you a lot of ideas about blogging and your upcoming posts. It keeps you updated with the latest trends in the market and helps you and your blog to be regularly updated. Also, you can research about the structure of blog posts and writing style to maintain a perfect rhythm for your blog posts.

2. Writing

\r\nWriting is obviously the best part of a blog. I placed reading before it because I felt a person needs some ideas before he can write something. Below are few points using which you can master your writing\r\n

    \r\n

  • Practice : Practice makes a man perfect. Writing practice makes your writing style solid and error free. Everyone starts from zero, just keep writing and then point out your mistakes and try not to repeat them again. This will give a great boost to your writing.
  • \r\n

  • Explore : When you are blank without any ideas, try closing your Internet connection, open a word editor and start writing whatever comes in your mind. Just write anything you think of related to your niche and blog. After some time, you would realize that you have many ideas on screen. You can start writing about them.
  • \r\n

\r\n

3. Promotion

\r\nPromotion as I told before too, helps you in getting visitors and helps people recognize your blog and brand. So implementation of right promotions technique can boost your visitor count.\r\n

    \r\n

  • Promote on Social Media : Social media has emerged as one of the greatest sharing as well as traffic source. So, whenever you write a blog post, make a habit of sharing that on your social circles so that you can get some instant traffic. Also Read : Basics of Social Media Integration for blog
  • \r\n

  • Guest Posts and Blog commenting : Both these things give a genuine backlink to your blog and it also redirects many visitors to your blog. You might not get thousands of visitors on a single day, but it gives a constant traffic and exposure to your blog.

  1. This is useful to have a fresh look at the basics and I think you have it down correctly. Except, for myself, I don’t think third party advertising is correct for blogs. A blog, in my mind, should only sell one product – that is the author. The author’s art, books, recordings, events, consultancy or other services are some of the appropriate things sold on a blog, IMHO.

    • I agree with you Steve, but being honest, somewhere I feel it is not a bad idea to allow third party advertisers on your blog. Well, this gives just a bit more exposure to your blog if you are advertising something related to your niche. If you think in this way, I am sorry I think you can never be a professional blogger. Because a professional blogger always thinks like a business person and according to a business person making money is not a bad think and a perfect business person looks to make money from whichever source he can. This is just a game of ethics and I dont think you are hurting anyone’s ethics by doing that. That is purely your thinking. Thanks for this comment at my blog, do visit me often.. 🙂

  2. My thought is that third party advertising distracts the blogger from the most potent way to make money, which is selling your own products and services. There are too many pages created to expose random third-party advertising, nothing valuable in that. If one is gone another will take its place. The power is in making money because of your unique abilities and the blog is only one tool to develop those and bring them to market. Being a professional blogger is not a worthy goal – an algorithm can make a blog what earn money from advertising. Making a blog which brings you to the marketplace is a more powerful way to make money.

    • I agree with you Steve, but being honest, 90% of bloggers whom I know came into blogging for money. I am just 17 today and I started my first ever blog when I was 9. For first 2 years, I dint make a single penny, still I was dedicated and confident that my work would not be a waste and one day I would be a great blogger. I got my first earning that was just $12 after 34 months. \nBut today, you do not find such a scene in young bloggers. The competition is vast, everyone looks to give their 100% and if someone approaches them for money, they just can not refuse. More than strategy, It has become a matter of showing off your earnings.
